There was also a manager standing there who swiftly ducked into the back office. When we went to talk to them in person They basically shrugged their shoulders and said sorry. We asked to talk to a manager and we were told there was not one. They said they would move us to a regular room but did not offer any compensation for the room difference even after we asked. When we called the desk to move to a different room, they said they had no other suites to move us too. We just hate the smell and it was literally going into our room. The room with the connecting door the people were smoking ********* next door. However, it was a ton stronger when we got to our room. When we checked in at the hotel and went to our room there was a strong smell on ********* when we walked down the hallway. We wanted to have a romantic get away for a night. And this hotel doesn't seem to want to listen. I write this review because I think a business can only learn by listening to customers. Apparently the customer service philosophy here starts at the top. I did try to contact Ms Levesque the General Manager - it's now been 4 days and she still has not called me back. I just can't explain the confrontation and lack of customer service. It's like they have instructions that it's Hampton vs the Customers and somebody is going to win. But the disturbing part of this business is how combative and confrontational the employees seem to be. I guess this hotel just makes up their own policies.

I received an email that there was no charge. So I cancelled the reservation in accordance with the policy on the Hilton site. 4 days later, I found out that one of the legs of my revised business trip were cancelled so I couldn't make it to Medford. She even said "well there are lots of reasons why i can't do this." She finally agreed. She was combative trying to find all sorts of reason why she couldn't make this change. I asked if i could shift my reservation to the following week. Mine was cancelled so I called the hotel and interacted with a front desk supervisor who simply refused to give me her name (not sure why). In early February when the Omicron variant was surging, lots of airlines were cancelling flights.
